 Monday, April 13th, 2009, Washington, DC The Family Equality Council was excited to participate in this year's historic White House Easter Egg Roll. In 2006 we organized LGBT families to attend the event to introduce ourselves to the world and showcase our families' love and strength. In 2009 over a hundred LGBT families attended having been specifically encouraged to apply for tickets by the White House! Thanks to our families' willingness to be visible, we've come a long way in a few short years. Our 2006 participation generated more positive media coverage of LGBT families than any other event in history. Browse some of that coverage below.
