Have you ever been to The National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change?
If not, NOW is the time! If you have attended the conference in the past, we invite you to join us again. This year Creating Change is 21 years old and remains the largest and most diverse strategic gathering of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) movement in the country. The conference takes place from Jan. 28-Feb. 1 in Denver, Colo., and we want you to join us!
The Family Equality Council’s trainings will be featured in the Task Force’s Academy for Leadership and Action, a leadership development and skill-building training program facilitated by top-notch faculty. These high-level courses will be offered by faculty, including those from Family Equality Council, with years of know-how. The Family Equality Council is excited about bringing its training expertise to the Academy for Leadership and Action because, along with the more than 30 courses offered, it’s an important opportunity to further build the sustainability, leadership and skills of LGBT and allied activists and organizations.
We are particularly excited about this year’s gathering because Family Equality Council is offering its best and brightest content and trainers to the Academy including:
- New Frontiers in Family-Centered Organizing: Lessons from California’s No on Proposition 8 Campaign
- Lifting Voices: Looking at LGBT Families of Color
The Family Equality Council is also sponsoring the 2nd annual Family Institute at Creating Change. For more information on this day-long workshop for LGBT parents and family advocates, contact Nicole Bourgoin at nicole.bourgoin@familyequality.org.
This is the one and only time each year that more than 2,000 LGBT rights advocates and allies meet up to strategize, mobilize (and, of course, socialize) for LGBT equality, and we look forward to seeing you there.

See you soon!
