Executive Branch
The executive branch carries out and enforces laws. It includes the President, Vice President, the Cabinet, executive departments, independent agencies, and other boards, commissions, and committees.
Our Executive Branch advocacy includes commenting on Presidential appointments, executive orders, and rules and regulations produced by agencies of the Federal government.
Judicial Branch
The judicial branch interprets the meaning of laws, applies laws to individual cases, and determines whether laws violate the Constitution. It’s comprised of the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
Our judicial branch advocacy involves filing briefs in court cases, both at the U.S. Supreme Court, and in Federal courts around the country.
Legislative Branch
The legislative Branch enacts legislation, and confirms or rejects Presidential appointments, and is comprised of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Our legislative branch advocacy involves supporting advancing federal law that furthers Family Equality’s mission, and opposing laws that negatively impact our families.
