This month is National Foster Care Month, so we're dedicating our Outspoken Voices podcast to hearing from two families formed through foster care.
Today we re-introduced the Equality Act, a comprehensive bill that will add protections for the LGBTQ community to existing civil rights statutes. This bill, when passed, will provide LGBTQ people and our families with comprehensive nondiscrimination protections in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, federal funding, access to credit and jury service. The bill is broad, sweeping and necessary.
May is National Foster Care Month, and Family Equality Council will bring you stories and analysis of the foster care system in the United States and how LGBTQ parents might help alleviate the burden on the state of its child welfare system and help youth in care find permanency.
