Maybe Baby - Minneapolis 2014

Dates: October 20, 27, November 3 and 10
Time: 6:00-8:00pm

Starting a family or thinking of adding a new member? Join us for this four-part series, Maybe Baby – a workshop sessions led by local counselor, Trisha Falvey, each designed to empower people who are LGBTQ as they think about, start or grow their family. Family Halloween Party

Voices of Transgender Parents Panel

Date: October 25, 2014

Join us as we partner with our friends from the Rainbow Initiative parent group for a panel discussion with local transgender parents about their experiences. Panelists will represent a range of gender perspectives and are raising children from infancy through adulthood. Topics will include how to talk to young children about gender and transgender issues, building allyship, and community resources.

This panel discussion has been organized by TRI, an organization for lesbian, bi, gay, trans and queer parents in the Boston area. At this event, we also extend a particular welcome to transgender people who are prospective parents - those not yet parents but considering options.

The Modern Family - a Conversation with Outspoken Co-Chairs, Ella Robinson & Zach Wahls

Join as we discuss what today's families really look like with our Outspoken Generation program co-chairs. Together we'll take a look various aspects of family diversity, specifically focusing on how LGBTQ parents and their children are expanding the way in which mainstream audiences see families. We will also discuss organizational strategies that embrace change and promote inclusion in day-to-day interactions.

Outspoken Generation Panel - Men Having Babies Conference

Join us we partner with Men Having Babies for their 10th annual conference, during which members of our Outspoken Generation (those who were raised by parents who identify as LGBTQ) will share their personal stories and perspectives. At this year's event attendees will also find a wide array of educational sessions, information and resources, all focused on biological parenting options for gay men. Creating Inclusive and Safe Spaces in Schools for Children and Families who Identify as LGBTQ

Dates: November 18, 19 & 20th
Time: 3:30pm
Location: Whitewater, WI

Participants will learn strategies for creating a safer, more inclusive world for all families in our schools. While the landscape of this topic is constantly expanding and changing, and continuing education is essential to the most responsible support of children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) or have parents that are LGBTQ. This training will present participants with concrete tools and knowledge.

Fostering Healthy Racial Identity Development in Trans-Racial Adoptive LGBTQ-Parented Families

Join us as we partner with our friends from the Rainbow Initiative parent group for a workshop presented by local expert Johnny Cole, which will provide LGBTQ parents with an opportunity to consider issues of race, racial identity development, racism, stereotypes, and prejudices, as related to cross-racial adoptive families.
