Maybe Baby - Minneapolis 2014

Dates: October 20 & 27 and November 3 & 10, 2014
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm

Starting a family or thinking of adding a new member? Join us for this four-part series, Maybe Baby – a workshop sessions led by local counselor, Trisha Falvey, each designed to empower people who are LGBTQ as they think about, start or grow their family. This series promises to be educational, inspiring, and fun! Registration is free but space is limited so sign up for the entire series TODAY!!!

Outspoken Generation Panel - Men Having Babies Conference

Join us we partner with Men Having Babies for their 10th annual conference, during which members of our Outspoken Generation (those who were raised by parents who identify as LGBTQ) will share their personal stories and perspectives. At this year's event attendees will also find a wide array of educational sessions, information and resources, all focused on biological parenting options for gay men. Stop, Drop & Breathe: A No-Yell Approach to Relieving Stress & Enjoying Your Child

Join us as we partner with our friends from the Rainbow Initiative parent group for a workshop presented by local expert Kathy Whitham. Kathy is an RN and a Parent Life Coach who believes that children thrive when their parents thrive! A favorite speaker at Family Week in P-town, Kathy helps parents be their best by supporting, guiding, educating and empowering them to restore calm, nurture deeper more connected family relationships and promote peace and play at home.

Her coaching style is a unique combination of empathy, expertise, and experience drawn from over 20 years of maternal-child nursing, holistic healing practices, yoga, and the arts, as well as imperfectly raising her three children to happy, successful adulthood. According to Kathy, “Connection matters more than perfection!”

Creating Inclusive and Safe Spaces in Schools for Children and Families who Identify as LGBTQ

Dates: November 18, 19 & 20, 2014
Time: 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Location: Whitewater, WI

Participants will learn strategies for creating a safer, more inclusive world for all families in our schools. While the landscape of this topic is constantly expanding and changing, and continuing education is essential to the most responsible support of children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) or have parents that are LGBTQ. This training will present participants with concrete tools and knowledge.

Fostering Healthy Racial Identity Development in Trans-Racial Adoptive LGBTQ-Parented Families

Join us as we partner with our friends from the Rainbow Initiative parent group for a workshop presented by local expert Johnny Cole, which will provide LGBTQ parents with an opportunity to consider issues of race, racial identity development, racism, stereotypes, and prejudices, as related to cross-racial adoptive families.
