Family Week is an entire week full of family-friendly events – beach bonfires, picnics in the park, Parent & Youth Cafés, art exhibits, a movie night, athletic activities, a family parade and dance – lots of great options for the whole family!

Family Week is the largest national gathering of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) family community in the United States and represents unique opportunities for LGBT parents and their children to come together to:

• Create life-long connections in support of one another
• Share stories that will open other hearts and minds in their own communities
• Raise their collective voices to create social justice for all families

Now in its 17^th year, Family Week 2012 is being presented as part of a series of community events that will honor Family Equality Council’s 30^th anniversary – a year-long national celebration during which we will unveil a renewed commitment to create a better world for our community of LGBT families.

During Family Week 2012, July 28 – August 4, hundreds of LGBT parents, their children, their extended families, prospective parents and friends will gather at the tip of Cape Cod in gay-friendly Provincetown, to relax and enjoy this amazing event.

Early registration is encouraged for Family Week, an event that traditionally draws hundreds of families from across the country and beyond to the sun-splashed, sandy shores of Cape Cod.

Family Equality Council is committed to making Family Week accessible to all LGBT families who wish attend. A sliding scale is available for to those who are unable to afford full-price registration for Family Week.

Zach Wahls, co-chair of Family Equality Council’s The Outspoken Generation program, will be leading our Outspoken Generation Kick-off Gathering at Family Week this summer. Due to his impassioned speech before the Iowa Legislature in 2011, which quickly went viral on Youtube – twice, Zach is proof positive that young adults can be AMAZING national LGBT family advocates. Zach joins us for Family Week 2012 along with his moms, Terry and Jacqueline.

• Morning activities for little ones (up to age 4) including a bouncy house, parachute, toddler yoga, a magic show and more!

• Classic Summer Camp Activities for youth ages 5-12
