Is it fair to have a child that you know will be bullied because of you? Aren’t children who are raised by lesbian or gay parents subjected to harassment?
The only thing that isn’t fair is that children are allowed to be bullies by their parents, peers and teachers. Unfortunately, children make fun of other children for all kinds of reasons: for being too short or too tall, for being too thin or too fat, for being of a different race or religion or speaking a different language. There is no evidence that children raised by LGBTQ parents face any more difficulties socializing in school than children of straight parents. The problem is not and never has been that children might be bullied, the problem is that the actions of bullies are being tolerated.
