Associate, Shefali will utilize the web to build community, change
hearts and minds and advance social justice for all families.
A graduate of the prestigious Newhouse School of Journalism at
Syracuse University, Shefali brings her passion for ensuring
equality and promoting diversity and inclusion to her work here at
Family Equality Council. As a student, she worked as Communications
Associate for the Slutzker Center, the university’s international
student office on campus, where her responsibilities included
creating weekly newsletters and enhancing the center’s website.
While at Syracuse, she also held editorial and web positions with
local print and broadcast media outlets.
Originally from India, where she received her bachelor’s degree in
information technology, Shefali is fascinated by the impact of the
Internet on both work and play. Her other interests include
cooking/eating/talking about food “all the time,” watching low
budget slasher flicks, and, lately, learning Spanish.
