The White House is no longer taking ticket requests for this
year’s Egg Roll. If you secured tickets, let us know! Email me
Update: 1:58pm, 3/26/09
The White House Easter Egg Roll site has changed the
message displayed to people trying to access the ticket form:
“Thank you for your patience. Ticket demand for the 2009 White
House Egg Roll is exceptionally high. We apologize for any
difficulty in reserving the tickets. If you did not receive a
confirmation page then you were not able to successfully secure
tickets at that time. Tickets are not available at this time.
Tickets will be available at various times through the day ONLINE
ONLY. If you were unable to order tickets, please check back later.
Please note that only a limited number of tickets are
To reiterate, some of you have asked via email about waiting in
line for tickets before the event. According to White House
information (available online), on-site ticketing
will no longer take place.
If you’re interested in tickets, continue trying to accessing the
White House site. This is the URL that works to access the main Egg
Roll site: http://www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll. We do
not want to publish the link directly to the ticket form, as that
link could change.
Some of our supporters have emailed us this morning to let us know
that the White House Easter Egg Roll website is not working for them. We have checked the
site. It appears that mass traffic is causing the site to have
server issues (a common occurrence for popular sites). The site
shows a message saying that tickets will be available periodically
throughout the day.
People who are interested in applying for tickets should continue
to check back throughout the day. If we hear anything more detailed
about the process, we’ll let you know by updating this blog post,
so bookmark it and sign up for blog alerts (see the big orange RSS
feed button to your right).
Imagine, a White House Egg Roll with a President who affirms our families!
