Senate Expected to Vote on Hate Crimes

The Senate began hearing the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention
Act yesterday. If passed, this act will expand Hate Crimes
legislation to crimes targeting a person’s perceived gender, sexual
orientation, gender identity, or disability. The Senate is expected
to vote on attaching the bill to the Department of Defense
authorization bill within the next few days. To find out more about
