Family Equality Council’s 2011 Interns

Equal Family will be featuring an intern each week this spring.
This week, we introduce our Executive Department Intern,
Eleanor.

My name is Eleanor Krahenbuhl and I am currently the
intern to the Executive Assistant, Ms. Rebecca Sniderman, at Family
Equality Council. I studied International Relations at Boston
University. In search of that ‘next step’ in my career
post-graduation, I stumbled upon this internship on idealist.org. I
have a focused interest in regards to my career
field—international human/civil rights and advocacy work—and I
was, therefore, very excited when I found Family Equality Council
and this current opportunity. I offer my assistance to Rebecca as
well as other employees with day-to-day office tasks and with small
research assignments. I am looking forward to beginning my own,
independent research project which will delve deeply into past
policies Family Equality Council has advocated for and the
challenges Family Equality Council has faced politically. This
project will hopefully not only add to the upcoming 30th
anniversary celebration of Family Equality Council, but will also
be good practice for my own future as a civil rights advocate
and/or lawyer.
