and Girls Club’s
National Youth of the Year Award! Nicholas joined the Boys
and Girls Club ten years ago and has since donated 1500 hours to
community service. An alumnus of the foster care system, Nicholas
was 6 years old when his aunt and her partner adopted him and
brought him to Pittsburgh, PA. Thanks to his loving and stable
home, Nicholas thrived and grew to give back to his community.

Nicholas and his parents live in the congressional district of
Rep. Mike Doyle, who signed on
yesterday as a coponsor of the Every
Child Deserves a Family Act. Our thanks to Rep. Doyle for his
support of LGBT parents. Thanks to Nicholas’ aunt and her partner
for giving Nicholas a loving, permanent home and for introducing
him to the Boys and Girls Club. Finally, our hearty
congratulations to Nicholas for his well-deserved award!
