Black History Month: Wanda Sykes

Throughout the month of February, Family Equality Council is celebrating Black History Month by honoring the accomplishments, contributions, and lives of LGBT Black Americans, past and present.

Wanda Sykes —Emmy Award winning comedian, actor, and LGBT rights activist. In 2009, Sykes was the first African American woman and first openly LGBT person to be the featured entertainer at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
