Family Equality Council’s LA Impact Awards Just Two Weeks Away

Family Equality Council’s annual Impact Awards gala is now just two weeks away! Every year the Impact Awards recognizes individuals and companies that have made outstanding contributions to the wellbeing of LGBTQ families. This year’s event is no exception. Honorees include the creators of the hit Amazon series Transparent, Target, and longtime Family Equality Council supporters Jonathan Murray and Harvey Reese. The Gala will be held on Saturday, March 11 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

At the event, actress Julie Bowen will present the award to Transparent writer Our Lady J, accepting on behalf of Jill Soloway, and Kim Kardashian will present the award to Jonathan Murray and Harvey Reese, who have proven themselves to be vocal advocates for LGBTQ youth and families.

Target will receive an Impact Award for their work demonstrating an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusivity for all people, particularly the LGBTQ community, to be presented by TV personality Ross Mathews. Guests and honorees will also be treated to performances by Cheyenne Jackson and Michael Arden. There will be special appearances by Robbie Rogers, and also by Jay Timmons, Rick Olson and family. We are delighted to welcome Tig Notaro, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

The Impact Awards would not be possible without the hard work of our host committee, so Family Equality Council extends warm thanks to our Event Chairs: Stuart Bell, David Marshall Grant, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Paulson, our Vice-Chairs: Natalie Bergman, and Seth Yankelwitz, and our Table Captains: Jeffrey Arden-Bernstein, and Danielle Cooper.
