We’re delighted to celebrate our merger with COLAGE and welcome four talented interns to our team to help prepare for Family Week 2019! Learn more about each of them below:
Youth Accessibility Lead Intern
Sonya Rio-Glick (she/hers) is excited to be COLAGE’s 2019 Youth Accessibility Lead! An active COLAGE participant since 2009, Sonya has two moms and an identical twin. She is passionate about issues of intersecting identity, which she explores in her blog, Where She Stands.
She is currently studying Arts Management at Purchase College, SUNY, and plans to pursue a career in theatre.
Adult Accessibility Lead Intern
Emmett (they/them) is fourth-generation queerspawn, and a first generation college student graduating from Hampshire College in May with a degree in public health education.
As a lifelong unschooler, Emmett has pursued a wide range of interests, which has most recently led them to teaching high schoolers about political engagement. Emmett, who is entering their sixth year on COLAGE staff, is an adult with a disability, which makes them extra excited to be working with COLAGE this year as the Adult Accessibility Lead Intern!
Emily Harnett (she/her/hers) is a second generation queerspawn with two moms who is currently an acting major at Point Park University Conservatory of Performing Arts. She is passionate about storytelling through the arts and loves to listen to others’ journeys and backgrounds.
While not rehearsing, singing, or working with COLAGE, you can find Emily with her friends, eating fun food, or hanging out with her dog. She can not wait to meet you!!
Angel (she/her/hers) is a 2019 Family Week Program Intern! This is her 15th year at Family Week with COLAGE. She has a lesbian mom and straight dad.
In May, she graduated from Wesleyan University with a double BA in African American Studies and American Studies. Her passions include community organizing, singing, writing, and traveling! She is so excited for FW2019!
