Join us in Birmingham, AL for “Magic City Parents Does the Magic City,” an LGBTQIA+ family weekend for parents who are LGBTQIA+, their children, extended families, prospective families, and friends in or around the Magic City! We’ll have family activities, fun for all ages, and lots of opportunities to make new friends.
Schedule of events:
- Friday, October 11 at 6PM: Meet, Greet, and Eat at Railroad Park (FREE)
Come together with other Magic City families to socialize! Feel free to bring dinner for your family and enjoy it on the beautiful lawn at Railroad Park. We will have frisbees, soccer balls, and bubbles to keep the kiddos (young and old) entertained throughout the evening.
- Saturday, October 12 at 9AM: Hiking at Red Mountain Park (FREE)
We will meet at the main entrance of Red Mountain Park for an easy-to-moderate stroll. This even is perfect for your fur babies as well as your two-legged kiddos!
- Saturday, October 12 at 1PM: Youth Outing at Birmingham Boulders
This is a time for youth to spend time together! Feel free to drop and go, or stay and hang out! A signed waiver is required. This activity costs between $14 and $24 — a flat student rate of $14, plus $5 for shoes (if needed) and $5 for harness (if wanted).
- Saturday, October 12 at 1PM: Toddler/Child Play Date (FREE)
Come out and let those kiddos burn off some energy while you connect with one another. This may be a great opportunity to introduce your child(ren) to families that are similar to your own. Park location is TBD. Feel free to make a request!
- Saturday, October 12 at 6:30PM: Dessert!
Join us at Magic City Sweet Ice for delicious gelato and yummy bakery treats!
Note: Registration is $5 per family, but there might be additional costs associated with activities.
