Family Equality Council Welcomes Matthew Ramsey to Development Team Leadership Role

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Today the Family Equality Council team and Board of Directors are pleased to welcome Matthew Ramsey to the position of Chief Development Officer. Family Equality Council is the nation’s leading advocate for LGBTQ families and those who wish to form them. As Chief Development Officer, Ramsey will lead the development team, providing donors across the country with opportunities to support Family Equality Council’s critical work on behalf of LGBTQ families.

Matthew Ramsey brings more than ten years of experience in fundraising and advocacy, most recently working as Director of Development and Marketing for the Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus. Previously he served as the first Executive Director for the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus, and has also served on the board for GALA Choruses. He sees building relationships and sharing stories as critical to advancing the mission of an organization. Matthew has a BA from Capital University and an MBA from Ohio Dominican University.

Matthew and his husband began fostering two young brothers in 2014 and then adopted the boys in 2015. His life is now a mix of fundraising, reading with the boys, traveling for events and meetings, homework, working with his team, and playing with his kids. Matthew lives with his family in Seattle, WA.
