Emily McGranachan is Director of Family Engagement for Family Equality Council, and also previously served as the East Coast Regional Manager. She has been advocating for LGBTQ rights and families for over ten years, ever since first attending Family Week in 2003. Prior to joining Family Equality Council, Emily worked in alumni relations and career services at American University. Emily is also an avid volunteer within the LGBTQ community, supporting a number of movement organizations, such as COLAGE, Amnesty International USA’s LGBT Human Rights Specialist Group and the American University Pride Alumni Alliance. Emily earned her BA at Mount Holyoke College in International Relations and Spanish and MA in Ethics, Peace and Global Affairs from American University in Washington, D.C. She is thrilled to have returned to her home state of Massachusetts, closer to her own LGBTQ parents and family members.
