Javoni Henderson is passionate about using data storytelling to better serve communities. She joined Family Equality in 2021 as the Database Manager, and she identifies as a queer lesbian living in Dallas, Texas.
Prior to joining Family Equality as the Database Manager in 2021, Javoni worked in higher education & academia utilizing mass data and database management practices. She holds an Associates of Arts in Peace & Human Rights and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and she has worked as a Family birth and labor doula since 2013. In 2022, she will be entering a Master’s Program to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
When she’s not working, you can find Javoni hanging out with her family of gamers (mainly the Super Mario Bros collections), writing, binge-watching, and listening to inspiring poets, philosophers, psychologists, and social justice advocates on “On Being with Krista Tippet” (her faves include Nikki Giavonni, Marie Howe, and Ruby Sales). She also loves traveling and experiencing different cultures through food, art, and community volunteering. She only has two more continents to visit!
