Mary Rohmiller joined Family Equality Council as a Policy Counsel in our Policy Department in February 2018. Prior to joining Family Equality Council, Mary was a policy attorney at the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, where she worked to develop civil rights guidance for educational institutions and to enforce laws prohibiting discrimination in education. Mary also has considerable federal court experience, having served as the Senior Attorney Advisor to the Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and as a staff attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta. In addition, she has been involved in a number of advocacy efforts at the state and local level to advance equality for the LGBTQ community and to improve the quality of public education for all students.
Mary graduated with highest honors from Georgetown University Law Center and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. Mary lives with her family in Virginia.
